Explore this tropical country with IPM and experience the true beauty in its people. You will learn about Brazil's complex history and visit IPM's Project Partners to come to know what local groups are doing to promote justice, peace, and hope for children, women, and youth.
Day 1: Arrive in Rio de Janeiro, visit the famous Christ the Redeemer statue and other cultural attractions around Rio.
Day 2: Travel into Rio's favelas, learn about a Franciscan community's work, and have lunch with the community members. Participate in afternoon activities with the children.
Day 3:Fly to Uberlandia and spend the day with a community daycare and teen activity program.
Day 4:Continue morning activities with the daycare program in Uberlandia, have lunch with the youth from the teen program, and visit IPM Project Partner Agro-ecological Resource Project.
Day 5: Drive to Campo Florido, a refugee camp for landless peoples. Meet with the landless and grassroots leaders there. Spend the night in a landless settlement.
Day 6: Participate in activities and dialogue with the community in the landless settlement and travel back to Uberlandia in the afternoon.
Day 7:Take a cultural excursion to the magnificant Iguacu Falls and the surrounding area.
