Join IPM on an Immersion Experience to Italy and Visit IPM Project Partner Project of Hope/Speranza II!
Travel around this country that is famous for its awe inspiring landscapes, classical art, and delicious food. You’ll visit IPM’s Project Partner and learn how this local group in is working to promote justice, peace, and hope for children, women and youth.
Day 1: Depart the United States for Rome.
Day 2: Arrive in Rome, greeted by IPM’s Chief Executive Officer, Joe Cistone. Spend the afternoon touring Campo di Fiore, the open air market, and the central historic center including the Colosseum. Then enjoy an evening walk and dinner out on the town.
Day 3: Travel to Castel Volturno for a site visit with IPM Project Partner Project of Hope/Speranza II¸ a community that provides safe haven for women who have been illegally trafficked from Nigeria to Italy. Then travel on to Naples and visit the National Archaeological Museum.
Day 4: Leave the Amalfi Coast for Reggio di Calabria where you’ll visit the Riace Warriors at Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia.
Day 5: Tour Assisi and the Basilica di Santa Chiara, and celebrate the New Year in this historic area.
Day 6:Drive to Orvietto and visit Duomo to admire Signorelli’s Frescos and tour the area. Then meet with a representative from the World Food Program.
Day 7: Drive to Syracuse and visit the Bellomo Museum with the Burial of St. Lucy & stopover at the Archaeological Park with the Greek Theater.
Day 8:Travel to Florence and visit Michelangelo’s “David in Accademia.” Take a walking tour of Florence with visits including Il Duomo, Santo Croce, and Ponte Vecchio.
Day 9: Take time to sight see in Valletta, including a visit to the Co-Cathedral of St. John to see The Beheading of John the Baptist & St. Jerome.
Day 10: Return to Rome and visit the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Then tour the Basilica and maybe even climb to the top of the dome.
Day 11: Return to the United States.
