Travel with IPM on an Immersion Experience to Kenya!

Plunge yourself into this country’s fascinating culture, rich heritage, and witness its extraordinary progress in the face of adversity. You’ll visit IPM’s Project Partners across Kenya and learn how these local groups are working today to promote justice, peace, and hope for children, women and youth.

Day 1: Depart the United States for Kenya.

Day 2: Arrive in Nairobi in the evening and get settled in at the Guest House.

Day 3: Visit with IPM Project Partners Watoto Wa Lwanga, a group offering support and education to children in marginalized communities, Dandora Women’s Forum, an organization of nearly 300 women who engage in income generating opportunities in the slum of Dandora, & Villa Teag, an orphanage serving many children orphaned by HIV/AIDS.

Day 4: Go on a tour of Nairobi and then travel to spend the day with IPM Project Partner Kandula Village Project, a community group that works to improve children’s education and access to safe drinking water for the community.

Day 5: Travel to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, spend the afternoon at the lodge, and then embark on a sunset wildlife safari.

Day 6: Go on a morning game drive through the Maasai Mara and then travel to the village of Nyabondo, stopping for a picnic lunch on the way.

Day 7: Spend the morning in Nyabondo playing and sharing with students and faculty from IPM Project Partner St. Martin De Porres School for Cerebral Palsy and then travel to Nyamonye.

Day 8: Visit with IPM Project Partner Rieti Agricultural Training Program and the Franciscan sisters who started this Project to empower the disadvantaged members of their community of Nyamonye.

Day 9: Take the scenic drive back to Nairobi, passing through the Kericho Region, famous for its tea production.

Day 10: Spend the final day with the inspiring young women from IPM Project Partners Bride Rescue Project and AIC Girls School, providing education and a safe space for young women who would otherwise have been victim to early marriage, and then depart in the evening for the United States.

Day 11: Arrive in the United States.
