Join IPM on an Immersion Experience to Tanzania!
Discover this country’s tumultuous past, hopeful future, and engage with its uniquely wonderful people. You’ll visit IPM’s Project Partners across Tanzania and learn how these local groups are working today to promote justice, peace, and hope for children, women and youth.
Day 1: Depart the United States for Tanzania.
Day 2: Arrive in Dar es Salaam and travel to the guest house.
Day 3: Get an overview of Tanzanian culture and history at the University of Dar es Salaam and then travel to Temboni to meet with representatives from a community-based AIDS project and IPM Project Partner Tanzania Women of Impact Foundation (TAWIF).
Day 4: Travel to Bagamoyo and visit the Kaole ruins, Caravan serai, Marian village & Msalabani
Day 5: Travel to Arusha and visit with Non-Governmental Organizations working for community change, as well as the Jesuit Novitiate College.
Day 6: Spend the day on a safari at the beautiful Mikumi National Park.
Day 7: Visit the Selian Outpost Hospital which provides healthcare to the surrounding community.
Day 8: Visit and spend the day at Mgolole children’s orphanage, then return to Arusha and spend the afternoon relaxing fair trade shopping.
Day 9: Spend time at the Massaai Artisan Market and Morogoro Seminary, then return to guest house for final reflection and packing. Depart in evening for the United States
Day 10: Arrive in the United States.
